Koh Chang Jungle Trekking - 13.09.2012

On september 13th we went on a small trekking tour trough the nationalpark on koh chung island. We paid 800 bath for this trekking tour but it was completely worth the money. early in the morning this day our guide picked us up at our hotel/hostel. After that we drove to the south of the island to an entry-point to the jungle. On our way to the south we stopped at the road because there where monkeys in the woods. We then called them by saying "u u" and then they all came. after that we fed them with bananas. That was fun.

Then we entered the jungle . On our way through the jungle we stopped at 2 waterfalls. a big and a smaller one. In the big waterfall we were allowed to swim. We stayed at this bigger waterfall for about an hour and then returned to our car.

Koh Chang Bike Ride - 12.09.2012

On september 12th we went to klong prao beach, where we found a nice bungalow at the beach only about 20 meters away from the sea ( at tiger hut hostel). It only cost us 300 per night.

 Then for the rest of the day we rented a bycicle and rode down to the south of the island. It was pretty but not always a pleasure , because the there are many hills along the cost which made it hard to ride the bike. Next time I think ill take a motor bike. Koh Chang Island 10th September

On september 10th we took the ferry to koh chang island. There we stayed at white-sand beach until september 11th. We found a cheap bungalow there for only 300 per night. (without air conditioning - air con is not always necessary, because it sometimes can be a bit cold at night during the rain season.)

 

 

   

Journey To Thailand 9th September

On september 9th we continued our trip to thailand. Our destination was the small city trat in south east thailand. trat is the closest city to the island ko chang , which we wanted to visit on the next day. They said to get there would last about 6 hours. But it took us much longer to get there because we had to wait at least two hours at the border to thailand. So we had started early in the morning this day and arrived in trat when it had already become dark outside. Trat to me seemed to be a pretty little town, with not so many tourists. But maybe that was just because of the rain season. We had dinner at the night market. I only paid 20 bath for my meal. Very cheap.

Also funny were the many birds on the power lines. sounded like in a zoo shop

i think its funny how all the bathrooms here in asia have the toilet and shower in the same room.
that way you can sit on the toilet and have your shower at the same time :)

Angkor Wat 08.09.2012

On september 8th we went to “Angkor Wat“ , the city of temples, which was really impressive and worth every single cent. We had to pay 20 dollars, to get into the temples. Our tuc tuc driver picked us up at about 5 am, because we wanted to see the sun rise. Then we walked through the temples for the whole day. If you only want to walk around the temples one day is enough. If you want to take a guide because you might be interested in the history of the temples you might need a bit more time. I think the tuc tuc driver was not really necassary and not worth the money. Because he only drove us between the temples , which were not very long distances. most time we spend in the temples not on the tuc tuc. The temples were so close to each other and also to siem reap that we could have nearly walked. Someone also told me that it's possible to rent a bycicle for 1$ per day , which would have been much cheaper. Here are some of the pictures I made from the temples.
